Premium Electric Guitars Over £1,000 — Fender Custom Shop, Gibson Custom & PRS

The Anatomy of a Premium Electric Guitar

What separates a high end electric guitar from standard production models? In the £1000+ price bracket, manufacturers transition from mass production to meticulous, small-batch craftsmanship.

• Elite Tonewoods: Premium instruments utilize hand-selected, lightweight, and highly resonant woods—such as solid mahogany, lightweight swamp ash, select alder, and highly figured flame or quilt maple tops.
• Boutique Electronics: Loaded with custom-wound, hand-wired, or active pickups designed to capture every nuance of your touch, offering unparalleled dynamic range, clarity, and harmonic complexity.
• Flawless Fretwork & Finishes: Features hand-rolled fingerboard edges, perfectly leveled and polished frets (often medium-jumbo or stainless steel), and premium finishes like thin nitrocellulose lacquer that allow the wood to breathe and resonate naturally.
• Tour-Ready Hardware: Equipped with high-ratio locking tuners, high-mass bridges, and self-lubricating nuts to ensure absolute tuning stability and perfect intonation under the most demanding stage conditions.
