What is the difference between a high-end production guitar and a Custom Shop model?

High-end production guitars (such as PRS Core Custom 24 or Gibson USA Standard) utilize advanced CNC precision combined with hand-finishing in standard production runs. Custom Shop models feature lower batch volumes, hand-selected tonewoods, custom hand-wound pickups, period-accurate construction, and master luthier voicing.

Why should I avoid drop-shipped high-end electric guitars?

Drop-shipped guitars are dispatched directly from logistics warehouses without unboxing or inspection. Without a bench inspection and 5-point setup by an in-house guitar technician, you risk receiving an unplayable instrument affected by climate shifts during storage and transit.

What does MusicStreet's 5-point setup include?

Every instrument sold through MusicStreet undergoes a comprehensive 5-point bench inspection: truss rod and neck relief calibration, nut slot depth check, bridge radius and intonation alignment, pickup height and electronic circuit testing, and fretboard conditioning.

Can I try boutique and custom shop guitars in person at MusicStreet?

Yes. MusicStreet operates a showroom at 10 Chequers Court, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where players can test premium PRS, Fender, and Gibson models through high-end amplifiers in a dedicated testing environment.

Super folk cutaway body

The Tanglewood TWBBSF CE 12 Blackbird 12 String Electro Acoustic Guitar features a Super Folk Cutaway body shape, expertly designed to offer players enhanced access to the upper frets. This design not only facilitates easier playability for complex chord progressions and solo work but also contributes to the guitar's robust sound projection. The aesthetic elegance of the cutaway also complements the overall sleek design of the instrument, making it as visually appealing as it is functional.

Premium mahogany construction

Mahogany is renowned for its ability to produce a warm, rich sound, and the TWBBSF CE 12 utilises this wood for both its top and sides. This choice ensures that the guitar delivers a sound that is resonant and full-bodied, ideal for the complex harmonics required by a 12-string guitar. The natural wood grain visible through the Smokestack Black Satin finish not only enhances the instrument's beauty but also contributes to its distinctive tonal character.

Advanced EQ system

Embedded within this guitar is the Tanglewood Premium Plus EQ system, a state-of-the-art feature that allows musicians to fine-tune their sound with precision. Whether in a live performance or a studio setting, this system provides the flexibility needed to adjust the tone, volume, and overall sound quality to perfectly match the environment and music style. This level of control makes the TWBBSF CE 12 exceptionally versatile and suitable for a wide range of musical genres.

Stunning finish

The Smokestack Black Satin finish of the Tanglewood TWBBSF CE 12 Blackbird not only gives it a sophisticated look but also serves a practical purpose. This type of finish helps to protect the wood, ensuring durability and maintaining the guitar’s pristine condition through years of use. The subtle sheen of the satin finish also highlights the mahogany’s natural patterns, adding an extra layer of visual appeal that sets this instrument apart on any stage or studio setting.
