Pure Bad Cat tone, no messing about! The Cub’s raw and raucous sound all comes from the one channel, and believe us when we say it’s plenty to go on. Bad Cat are renowned for their American sonic prowess with the Cub being one of their most popular models.

Selectable Preamp Tubes

One channel. You might think the Cub does the whole bluesy crunch well and that’s it - but there's so much more. Features include a preamp tube toggle to select either 12AX7 and EF86 circuits on the fly. This allows you to switch between a chimey, glassy tone and a thicker, more complex sound. The EF86 valves also bring more gain to reach those upper echelons of heavy rock. Combine with the EL34 driven power amp to get class British style tightness.

There’s also a selectable tone stack boost upping the Cub’s gain stages to four, meaning more room to experiment with your unique sound or just to thicken things up for solos. Both toggle features are accessible via footswitch.

Studio-grade Reverb

Carefully-voiced by Bad Cat to sit perfectly in any mix, you’ll get studio-grade reverb right through your loudspeaker with drowning your tone or losing clarity.

K Master

An original approach to power amp management. The K Master dial controls voltage, current gain, harmonic clipping and signal amplitude in order to retain gain levels at any volume. That means whatever level you’re playing at, you’re getting the same responsiveness and presence you’d expect from a loud tube amp.

Wait, it does more! Push the K Master past 2 o’clock to saturate the power section independent of the preamp gain. This opens up even more tonal possibilities, such as big cleans with loads of harmonic content.
