What is the difference between a high-end production guitar and a Custom Shop model?

High-end production guitars (such as PRS Core Custom 24 or Gibson USA Standard) utilize advanced CNC precision combined with hand-finishing in standard production runs. Custom Shop models feature lower batch volumes, hand-selected tonewoods, custom hand-wound pickups, period-accurate construction, and master luthier voicing.

Why should I avoid drop-shipped high-end electric guitars?

Drop-shipped guitars are dispatched directly from logistics warehouses without unboxing or inspection. Without a bench inspection and 5-point setup by an in-house guitar technician, you risk receiving an unplayable instrument affected by climate shifts during storage and transit.

What does MusicStreet's 5-point setup include?

Every instrument sold through MusicStreet undergoes a comprehensive 5-point bench inspection: truss rod and neck relief calibration, nut slot depth check, bridge radius and intonation alignment, pickup height and electronic circuit testing, and fretboard conditioning.

Can I try boutique and custom shop guitars in person at MusicStreet?

Yes. MusicStreet operates a showroom at 10 Chequers Court, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where players can test premium PRS, Fender, and Gibson models through high-end amplifiers in a dedicated testing environment.

Full Description

Vintage tone with modern versatility

The SE McCarty 594 captures the spirit of vintage singlecut guitars while offering PRS refinement. Its 58/15 LT "S" pickups deliver warm, expressive tones that can easily shift between thick humbucker growl and clear single-coil chime. With push/pull tone controls and independent volume knobs, it’s simple to fine-tune your sound on the fly.

Comfortable feel and powerful sustain

Built with a bound Pattern Vintage neck and slightly thicker mahogany body, the SE McCarty 594 offers superb resonance and sustain. The neck profile feels substantial in the hand without being bulky, allowing for fluid bends and comfortable chord work. Combined with a 24.594” scale length, it provides smooth tension and a naturally balanced tone.

Premium construction and materials

A figured maple veneer tops a maple and mahogany body for a classic PRS look and rich tonal depth. The rosewood fretboard adds warmth and clarity, while bird inlays bring a touch of PRS elegance. Every detail is crafted for reliability and playability, from the smooth fretwork to the faultless finish.

Timeless style and stage-ready reliability

The PRS two-piece bridge, made of zinc and brass, enhances sustain and tone transfer while ensuring rock-solid tuning stability. Vintage-style tuners keep things smooth and consistent, matching the guitar’s classic aesthetic. Finished in striking Vintage Sunburst and supplied with a PRS gig bag, the SE McCarty 594 stands as the perfect blend of vintage character and modern performance.
