ID:X Floor One is built on Blackstar’s component-level digital modelling, which recreates the behaviour of individual amplifier stages rather than capturing static snapshots. Every amp model responds dynamically to picking attack, guitar volume changes and playing nuance. Selectable power valve responses allow the feel of EL84, EL34 or 6L6 power sections, further shaping compression, headroom and harmonic character. This approach delivers an experience that feels like playing a real amplifier, not a digital approximation.

Ampton amp models and tonal flexibility

The 12 electric amp models include both modern Blackstar voicings and Ampton recreations of iconic valve amplifiers. Ampton designs are engineered component by component, preserving the exact interactivity of original tone stacks and circuit behaviour. This ensures musical response across the full control range, something simple captures cannot achieve. Additional bass amp models, acoustic voices and an acoustic simulator extend the ID:X Floor One beyond standard guitar use, making it suitable for multi-instrument setups.

Blackstar’s CabRig speaker simulation goes beyond traditional impulse responses by offering an ‘In The Room’ experience that recreates the feel of an amplifier moving air in front of you. Rather than relying solely on mic’d cabinet captures, CabRig models cabinet, microphone and room interaction in a more natural and dynamic way. Full CabRig control is available directly from the unit, allowing quick adjustment without external software, making it ideal for both live and recording environments.
