What is the difference between a high-end production guitar and a Custom Shop model?

High-end production guitars (such as PRS Core Custom 24 or Gibson USA Standard) utilize advanced CNC precision combined with hand-finishing in standard production runs. Custom Shop models feature lower batch volumes, hand-selected tonewoods, custom hand-wound pickups, period-accurate construction, and master luthier voicing.

Why should I avoid drop-shipped high-end electric guitars?

Drop-shipped guitars are dispatched directly from logistics warehouses without unboxing or inspection. Without a bench inspection and 5-point setup by an in-house guitar technician, you risk receiving an unplayable instrument affected by climate shifts during storage and transit.

What does MusicStreet's 5-point setup include?

Every instrument sold through MusicStreet undergoes a comprehensive 5-point bench inspection: truss rod and neck relief calibration, nut slot depth check, bridge radius and intonation alignment, pickup height and electronic circuit testing, and fretboard conditioning.

Can I try boutique and custom shop guitars in person at MusicStreet?

Yes. MusicStreet operates a showroom at 10 Chequers Court, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where players can test premium PRS, Fender, and Gibson models through high-end amplifiers in a dedicated testing environment.

Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cut -TV Yellow

Straight-to-the-point tone machine

The Les Paul Junior Double Cut keeps things gloriously simple: one punchy bridge P-90, slab mahogany body and a no-nonsense control layout. That stripped-back recipe means your picking hand and amp do the talking, delivering a raw, immediate voice that cleans up beautifully with a twist of the volume. It’s the kind of guitar that rewards touch and dynamics, from crisp, jangly rhythm parts to snarling riffs that land with authority.

P-90 power with real dynamics

The single Dogear P-90 dishes out classic midrange growl with airy highs and a tight, percussive low end. Roll the tone back for rounded, vintage warmth or open it up for gritty, articulate bite that cuts through a mix. It’s a wide, usable range from just two knobs, making quick stage adjustments effortless. Plug straight into a good valve amp and you’ll find everything from sweet cleans to raucous overdrive on tap.

Fast SlimTaper neck and full access

A comfortable SlimTaper mahogany neck and 24.75" scale feel easy under the fingers, encouraging confident bends and tidy vibrato. The double cutaway body gives clear access right up the board, so higher-register lines and chord shapes feel natural and unhurried. A rosewood fingerboard with simple dot markers keeps the vibe classic and uncluttered, while 22 frets offer plenty of room to stretch out during solos and lead fills.

Rock-solid hardware, built to gig

The wraparound bridge anchors sustain and keeps intonation honest, with a direct, resonant feel that suits punchy rhythm work and melodic lines alike. Vintage-style tuners with white buttons hold tuning well and add the right touch of old-school charm. Finished in TV Yellow and supplied with a hardshell case, the Junior Double Cut is a tough, reliable workhorse that’s ready for rehearsals, recording and stage time without any fuss.
