The Gibson SG Standard 2013 in Ebony finish is the latest iteration of one of Gibson's most iconic and longstanding models.

Featuring a striking double cutaway, twin ‘horns’ design, slim mahogany body and a pair of humbucking pickups, the SG was originally introduced to replace the Les Paul model in 1961. It has stayed in the range ever since and has gone on to become a classic.

The latest incarnation of the Gibson SG borrows heavily from the original early 60s model, featuring a slim 60s neck profile with the smaller, early 60s headstock shape and the original small scratchplate design.

As with all SGs, the Gibson SG Standard 2013 features a slim, contoured Mahogany body. This is coupled with a slim mahogany neck topped with a bound, grade A Rosewood fretboard fitted with 22 frets and inlaid with traditional trapezoid inlays. The small 60s headstock features the classic mother of pearl Gibson logo and holly inlays.

Pickups are a pair of Gibson’s legendary ‘57 Classic humbuckers. These are faithful recreations of the original, and much loved, Gibson PAFs of the late ‘50s. Featuring Alnico II magnets, they deliver a classic Gibson sound -smooth, powerful bass tones, punchy mids and warm, bright trebles. The pickups are wired through the traditional ‘two volume, two tone’ control layout via a three way toggle switch.

Tuning is kept solid with the inclusion of vintage-style tuners coupled with a tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece.

Each Gibson SG Standard 2013 comes complete with a black, plush-lined hard case.
