Vintage Aesthetics
The Fender '60s American Original Jazzmaster evokes the look and sound of the '60s. It has a period correct lacquer that lets the guitar resonate more fully, and it also 'ages' more gracefully, which - like a fine wine - will improve with age.
The guitar features vintage-inspired hardware, from its machine-heads to its floating tremolo with lock button and push-in arm. The distinct Jazzmaster outline is crafted with the original contours of the '60s era guitars, and comes in a vintage-style hardshell case meaning you'll be rocking the vintage-look even as you turn up to your gigs.
Pure '65 Pickups
The American Original '60s Jazzmaster is loaded with Pure Vintage '65 single coil pickups. They aim to accurately recreate the sound of decades-past. The pickups use alnico V magnets for enhanced focus and greater dynamics, along with enamel-coated copper wire and flush mounted polepieces for an even string response. The guitar is wired with authentic '60s wiring so you'll be sure of a true sound and response.
Modern Playability
The benefit of buying a new guitar is in its construction quality, reliability and modern playing feel. Despite the vintage looks, the '60s Jazzmaster has a modern playing feel that won't restrict your technique. This guitar blends the best of old style/sound with new playability and will give you a contemporary take on what a vintage guitar can deliver. Old instruments are fondly remembered for their sound and style - this guitar delivers both but has all the benefits of a brand-new guitar.
History of the Jazzmaster
First introduced at the 1958 NAMM Show with a great deal of chrome and controls, the Jazzmaster was originally designed for traditional jazz musicians. However it soon found itself embraced by reverb-drenched surf guitarists in the '60s, lip-curling punks in the '70s and legions of alt-indie from the late '80s onwards. Fender's first dual-circuit instrument, the Jazzmaster provided a new level of versatility while the traditional wide and flat pickups produced a broad tonality, less bite and a more subtle attack than most single-coil pickups. A first choice among players worldwide, there is nothing that can come close to the naturally comfort, remarkable tonal versatility and character that the Jazzmaster guitar offers.
