Starting in 1987, the Fender Custom Shop has produced Fender's highest-end instruments. Many Custom Shop guitars are reissue of classic Fender models and undergo an aging process to more closely replicate authentic vintage instruments. Those bearing the description of "Relic" feature era specific hardware and components, and fabricated dings and scratches.  This Tele, for example, is a reissue of the "Nocaster" from early 1951 when the Tele had no name on its headstock.
