The Les Paul Guitar debuted in 1952 as Gibson's first solidbody guitar and has evolved over the course of time to stand today as the benchmark for all electric guitars. After Les Paul passed away earlier this year Gibson have marked his memory with this Tribute Guitar.
Based on the Original LP 1952 model, only 564 guitars were produced with 6 guitars made for each year Les lived- from 1915 to 2009. All will be hand numbered- 1915 A, 1915 B, 1915 C… 1916 A, 1916 B, etc. All actual 1952 LP’s were listed as prototypes so these will be stamped prototype also.
This instrument features a gold top nitro-cellulose finish with natural mahogany back and neck. The Trapeze tailpiece has been corrected to match Les Paul’s original Patent. Electronics wise there are a pair of authentic P-90 pickups. Other features include an engraved Tribute truss rod cover. Certificate of authenticity included.
