Rickenbacker bass guitars have a rich and varied history in the world of contemporary music, being the personal favourites to many of the worlds most prominent rock and roll low-end purveyors.  Whilst the 4003 is arguably the most recognisable and widely used, in recent years the more-comfortable-to-play 4004 series has been coming into their own, especially the 4004 Cii Cheyenne, with it's newly designed Humbuckers that have been carefully placed for maximum tonal capability.

The 4004Cii Cheyenne uses only American farm-grown sustainable woods in its construction, featuring a solid Maple & Walnut body, complimented by an Eastern Maple neck that runs the full length of the bass.  Other key features include gold hardware, finely-tuned RIC Humbucker pickups, and a rich gloss clear coat and Black "Jetglo" finish.

he overall shape and construction of this bass is really a stripped-back tribute to the famous 4001 and 4003 basses of the 1960s and 1970s,  with only the extensive chrome hardware and scratchplate absent.  Having played one of these myself, I can honestly say it feels incredibly comfortable whether sitting or standing, and the smooth neck construction makes for fast and easy access to the entire fretboard.

The humbuckers housed in the 4004Cii have been finely tuned to provide you with a full spectrum array of tones, pushing out crystal clear bass and mid-range frequencies, with just enough treble to keep things interesting.  The pickups are controlled with pin-point accuracy using the tone & volume control knobs, and the inclusion of a 3-way pickup selector toggle means that you can easily achieve the precise tones that you want for your play style.
