The sound of a generation. The Celestion Creamback is one of guitar's most celebrated amp speakers. To get around this without settling for a modern, solid-state rectifier type tone, Fender cleverly modified the power transformer to apply just enough of that tube rectifier "sag" to give the '68 Custom Pro Reverb the same, musical feel as its forefathers.
Likewise, the negative feedback circuit, applied to all amps in order to keep the tone crystal clear, has been reduced in this '68 model. This boosts the effective gain, and allows for a chunky, hyper-touch-sensitive feel that brings your guitar parts to life.
