Yamaha Revstar

Yamaha Revstar

Originally launched in 2015, the Yamaha Revstar was the first new electric guitar series from Yamaha in more than a decade, drawing on the brand’s heritage in electric guitar design and the heritage of motorcycle design from the Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. The new Revstar series consists of three tiers: Element, Standard, and the made-in-Japan Professional. All models feature chambered bodies developed with Yamaha’s Acoustic Design process. Using advanced measurement and modelling tools, Yamaha developed the chambering pattern to specifically shape tone and increase resonance while lowering weight and optimizing balance.

About Yamaha Revstar Guitars

Yamaha Revstar guitars, first introduced in 2015 and updated in 2022, draw inspiration from the café racer motorcycles of the 1960s London, known for their stripped-down, performance-oriented design. This influence is reflected in the Revstar's aesthetics, combining classic Yamaha electric guitar designs dating back to 1966 with modern craftsmanship and innovation from Japan. Each guitar in the Revstar series features a unique hanko stamp, a traditional Japanese seal of approval, with different stamps for Element and Standard models compared to the "Made in Japan" stamp on Professional models.

Every new Revstar features a chambered body designed with Yamaha’s Acoustic Design process to sculpt tone and increase resonance while reducing weight and optimizing balance.

Revstar Standard and Professional models feature carbon-reinforced necks. Professional models also add carbon reinforcement to the body for weight relief, vibration transfer, and tone shaping.

Standard and Professional models offer 5-way switching. In positions 2 and 4, our circuit slightly delays the opposite pickup for a new take on classic “in between” sounds.
