Guitar strings for every guitar
Fresh strings are the cheapest tone upgrade there is. We stock electric, acoustic, bass and classical strings from Ernie Ball, D'Addario, Elixir, Martin, Fender, Rotosound and more, in the gauges players actually use.
Choosing strings
-
Electric: 9s are light and easy to bend; 10s are the all-rounder; 11s and up give a thicker tone and suit lower tunings
-
Acoustic: phosphor bronze for warmth, 80/20 bronze for brightness, coated strings (like Elixir) for longer life
-
Bass: roundwounds for punch, flatwounds for a vintage thump
-
Classical: nylon only; never fit steel strings to a classical guitar
Changing gauge can affect your setup. If you go up or down a lot, our workshop can adjust your guitar to suit.
String FAQs
How often should I change strings?
When they sound dull or stop staying in tune. For regular players, that's every one to three months.
