What is the difference between a high-end production guitar and a Custom Shop model?

High-end production guitars (such as PRS Core Custom 24 or Gibson USA Standard) utilize advanced CNC precision combined with hand-finishing in standard production runs. Custom Shop models feature lower batch volumes, hand-selected tonewoods, custom hand-wound pickups, period-accurate construction, and master luthier voicing.

Why should I avoid drop-shipped high-end electric guitars?

Drop-shipped guitars are dispatched directly from logistics warehouses without unboxing or inspection. Without a bench inspection and 5-point setup by an in-house guitar technician, you risk receiving an unplayable instrument affected by climate shifts during storage and transit.

What does MusicStreet's 5-point setup include?

Every instrument sold through MusicStreet undergoes a comprehensive 5-point bench inspection: truss rod and neck relief calibration, nut slot depth check, bridge radius and intonation alignment, pickup height and electronic circuit testing, and fretboard conditioning.

Can I try boutique and custom shop guitars in person at MusicStreet?

Yes. MusicStreet operates a showroom at 10 Chequers Court, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where players can test premium PRS, Fender, and Gibson models through high-end amplifiers in a dedicated testing environment.

ProBucker power and clarity

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s Figured brings classic humbucker character with a set of ProBucker pickups: a ProBucker 2 in the neck for sweet, rounded cleans and a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 in the bridge for bite and punch. They’re wired with CTS pots for a smooth, musical taper, so rolling back retains definition instead of turning woolly. It’s a vintage-leaning voice with modern consistency, ideal for everything from bluesy crunch to stadium rock

Slimtaper feel, vintage scale

The SlimTaper 60s C neck is a comfortable and fast with a 24.75" scale, sitting just right for fluid bends, tidy chord work, and confident vibrato. A rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoids and 22 frets gives a familiar Les Paul feel under the fingers, while the Graph Tech nut keeps the action smooth and tuning stable. It’s the sort of neck that sits perfectly in the hand and lets the music do the talking

Figured top, classic construction

A mahogany body supplies rich midrange and sustain, capped with maple for snap and definition, then finished with a highly figured maple veneer that looks properly premium under stage lights. Single-ply binding on the top and fretboard frames the Iced Tea Burst beautifully, delivering that unmistakable Les Paul silhouette with boutique visual flair. It’s the timeless tonewood formula, dressed to impress without the boutique price tag

Hardware that you can rely on

LockTone Tune-O-Matic and Stop Bar hardware anchors the strings for rock-solid intonation and sustain, while Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons make accurate tuning quick and easy. Nickel plating ties the look together, and the control set of two volumes and two tones on CTS pots keeps the response consistent night after night. It all adds up to a reliable, gig-ready Les Paul that stays in tune and sings loud through any backline
