What is the difference between a high-end production guitar and a Custom Shop model?

High-end production guitars (such as PRS Core Custom 24 or Gibson USA Standard) utilize advanced CNC precision combined with hand-finishing in standard production runs. Custom Shop models feature lower batch volumes, hand-selected tonewoods, custom hand-wound pickups, period-accurate construction, and master luthier voicing.

Why should I avoid drop-shipped high-end electric guitars?

Drop-shipped guitars are dispatched directly from logistics warehouses without unboxing or inspection. Without a bench inspection and 5-point setup by an in-house guitar technician, you risk receiving an unplayable instrument affected by climate shifts during storage and transit.

What does MusicStreet's 5-point setup include?

Every instrument sold through MusicStreet undergoes a comprehensive 5-point bench inspection: truss rod and neck relief calibration, nut slot depth check, bridge radius and intonation alignment, pickup height and electronic circuit testing, and fretboard conditioning.

Can I try boutique and custom shop guitars in person at MusicStreet?

Yes. MusicStreet operates a showroom at 10 Chequers Court, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where players can test premium PRS, Fender, and Gibson models through high-end amplifiers in a dedicated testing environment.

Comfortable feel that keeps you playing

The PA neck profile supports relaxed fretting, making the guitar easy to settle into whether you’re recording, rehearsing, or exploring new ideas. Its 1 3/4" nut width offers enough room for clean chord shapes and fingerstyle work without feeling wide. And because the neck finish is hand-applied, it stays smooth and predictable under your hand.

Warm, balanced tone for everyday use

With a solid sapele top, back, and sides, the 000-10E Retro Sapele has a warm midrange and focused projection that works well for both strumming and lighter playing. Scalloped X-bracing helps the top move freely, giving you a responsive feel across all strings. It’s a sound that adapts easily to different playing styles, making it a dependable daily acoustic.

Simple, stripped-back aesthetic

The satin finish, diamond-and-square fingerboard inlays, and vintage-style open-gear tuners give the guitar a clean, understated look. The faux tortoise pickguard complements the darker mahogany-toned top, while the select hardwood bridge and ebony pins add subtle detail without distraction.

Ready to plug in and take with you

The built-in Martin E1 electronics keep your amplified sound clear and functional, so you can take the guitar into rehearsals or small venues without extra setup. And with the included softshell case, the 000-10E Retro Sapele is prepared for regular travel, lessons, or writing sessions wherever you end up.
