What is the difference between a high-end production guitar and a Custom Shop model?

High-end production guitars (such as PRS Core Custom 24 or Gibson USA Standard) utilize advanced CNC precision combined with hand-finishing in standard production runs. Custom Shop models feature lower batch volumes, hand-selected tonewoods, custom hand-wound pickups, period-accurate construction, and master luthier voicing.

Why should I avoid drop-shipped high-end electric guitars?

Drop-shipped guitars are dispatched directly from logistics warehouses without unboxing or inspection. Without a bench inspection and 5-point setup by an in-house guitar technician, you risk receiving an unplayable instrument affected by climate shifts during storage and transit.

What does MusicStreet's 5-point setup include?

Every instrument sold through MusicStreet undergoes a comprehensive 5-point bench inspection: truss rod and neck relief calibration, nut slot depth check, bridge radius and intonation alignment, pickup height and electronic circuit testing, and fretboard conditioning.

Can I try boutique and custom shop guitars in person at MusicStreet?

Yes. MusicStreet operates a showroom at 10 Chequers Court, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where players can test premium PRS, Fender, and Gibson models through high-end amplifiers in a dedicated testing environment.

The flagship semi-hollowbody that defined the modern Duesenberg sound. Arched spruce top, flamed maple back, GrandVintage humbucker in the bridge, and Domino P90 in the neck with the legendary Diamond Deluxe Tremola.

Paloma Series

A sleek, solid-body offset loaded with a versatile HSS pickup configuration (GrandVintage humbucker, Pearlito single-coil, and Alnico Blade). Delivers sparkling cleans, punchy crunch, and unmatched tonal flexibility via a 4-way rotary selector.

Caribou & Julia Series

Chambered solid-body designs offering acoustic resonance without back-breaking weight. The Caribou delivers bold indie/rock punch, while the Julia features vintage Italian-inspired styling and direct coil-split switches.

Alliance & Artist Series

Collaborations with legendary artists including Mike Campbell, Johnny Depp, and Joe Walsh. Boasting custom racing stripes, bespoke hardware finishes, and specialized circuit switching.

The Duesenberg Difference: Proprietary German Hardware

Unlike standard production guitars that rely on generic off-the-shelf parts, every critical component of a Duesenberg is designed in-house:

Diamond Deluxe Tremola Widely regarded as the smoothest, most stable vibrato unit in the world—featuring 360-degree arm rotation and frictionless needle bearings.

GrandVintage + Domino P90 The iconic pickup formula: rich, open bridge humbucker crunch balanced against creamy, articulate P90 neck warmth with zero mud.

Z-Tuners & Art Deco Hardware Internal string-clipping Z-Tuners ensure rapid string changes, precise 18:1 gear ratios, and elegant 1930s architectural lines.

Plek Precision Fretwork Every Duesenberg undergoes computer-controlled Plek fret levelling for buzz-free low action across the entire rosewood fretboard.

Frequently Asked Questions About Duesenberg Guitars

Are Duesenberg guitars professionally set up before UK delivery?

Yes. In addition to Duesenberg's factory Plek processing in Hannover, every guitar receives our complimentary £75 workshop setup in our Huntingdon workshop prior to dispatch. We check string action, neck relief, pickup heights, and vibrato tension so your instrument arrives ready for stage and studio.

What makes the Diamond Deluxe Tremola better than standard vibratos?

The Diamond Deluxe Tremola incorporates heavy-duty needle bearings and an internal roller bridge mechanism, virtually eliminating friction at the pivot points. It allows 360-degree arm rotation, effortless string changing via through-pin anchor points, and rock-solid return-to-pitch stability during heavy vibrato use.

What is the tonal character of the Starplayer TV?

The Starplayer TV offers a distinctive acoustic-electric hybrid voice. Its spruce soundboard and semi-hollow center block deliver resonant airy sustain, while the GrandVintage humbucker provides thick, articulate rock overdrive, and the Domino P90 neck pickup produces open, glassy, bell-like cleans.

Can I audition Duesenberg guitars in your Huntingdon showroom?

Yes! We warmly invite players to our showroom at 10 Chequers Court, Huntingdon (PE29 3LJ). You can compare Starplayer TV, Paloma, and Caribou models side-by-side through our selection of valve amplifiers in a quiet, pressure-free demo lounge.

Do you accept part-exchange or trade-ins against Duesenberg guitars?

Yes. We offer fair, competitive trade-in and part-exchange valuations on quality electric guitars, acoustics, and amplifiers. Bring your equipment to our Huntingdon store or contact our sales team online with photos and specifications for a prompt quote.
