This Silver Sky Defender brings a distinctive Defender heritage colour to the Silver Sky, drawing direct inspiration from John Mayer's own vintage 4x4. The finish is paired with a matching painted headstock, a detail reserved for select limited-edition Silver Sky models, while white plastics complement the body colour. Inspired by open skies, coastal roads, and the freedom associated with taking the long way home, this collaboration translates a memorable automotive colour into a striking guitar finish with a personal connection to Mayer.

Limited to 500 worldwide


Only 500 Silver Sky Defender guitars are available worldwide in each colour, giving this collaboration a place in any collection. Each instrument carries a unique neck plate featuring Defender branding, its colour name, and the inscription "1 of 500". A matching painted headstock adds another feature reserved for select limited-edition Silver Sky models. These details connect each guitar directly to the Defender Color Collection while clearly marking the exclusivity of this individual heritage-inspired finish.

Warm vintage-inspired single coils


Three PRS 635JM single-coil pickups deliver the established voice at the heart of this Silver Sky specification. Designed for a full, warm, vintage-inspired character, they provide a musical high end without becoming brash. A five-way blade pickup switch provides access to the available pickup combinations, accompanied by one volume and two tone controls for straightforward adjustment. Developed by John Mayer and PRS around the sound, feel, and response of inspiring vintage guitars, the Silver Sky combines this pickup configuration with refined PRS design.

Classic feel with PRS hardware


The Silver Sky Defender combines a 25.5" scale maple neck with a 635 JM-R shape, rosewood fretboard, 7.25" radius, and 22 PRS medium frets. Its PRS Steel Tremolo updates a classic design with PRS Gen III knife-edge screws and the company's trem arm design, while vintage-style closed-back tuners incorporate the PRS locking system. Nickel hardware and a bone nut complete the hardware specification, and the guitar comes with an ATA moulded case featuring a custom Defender badge for distinctive presentation and storage.
