Gibson 345 TDC - 1960

A real piece of history..... 

Stunning '60 ES-345 in a beautiful faded cherry finish. Factory sideways vibrola trem, gold hardware, split parallelogram inlays, slim D profile neck. The neck humbucker has a repro PAF sticker, one changed bobbin and has been rewound at some point; all other features are consistent with a short magnet PAF. The bridge PAF has had a coil rewound but is otherwise original.

• - no serial no. stamped on the back of the headstock.
• - 'A' Serial No.
• - larger traditional late 59' neck profile.
• - watermelon faded red which is the earlier burst paint.

The first 1960 serial number was A35645, the serial numb on this model is A35773.. making it the 128th guitar produced in early 1960...

The variety of tones you can achieve with this instrument is staggering. A superb versatile guitar in great shape, complete with original orange lined hard case.

Originality/Condition

Shows some play wear. The cherry finish has faded to a more watermelon finish. 
There is wear through the lacquer on the lower side, most probably as a result of being played sat down over time.
The guitar has been refretted and a such plays remarkably well. 
3 tuner tips have been changed for repro's. Kluson single line tuners themselves are original.
Both pickups have had there covers removed in the past. Both pickups have black lead wires and both have had changed pickup surrounds.

Neck pickup has had a replaced bobbin and has been rewound. Magnet and chassis are original, PAF sticker is repro.

Bridge pickup is original besides having been rewound. The PAF sticker is original.
Tuneomatic bridge is original and the B & E saddles have been switched out for nylon versions.

All in all a great piece of history that is a worth while investment.
